Dibrugarh Police quiz Gopal Bora over recovery of APSC scripts

Dibrugarh police on Saturday questioned contractor Gopal Chandra Bora, in whose flat a huge number of Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) blank answer scripts were recovered during a raid recently.

Bora, who is a contractor from Dudhnoi in Goalpara was summoned by the Dibrugarh police following the recovery of the materials.

On Saturday he was grilled at the Dibrugarh police station for over 6 hours from morning till late afternoon. After the interrogation he was, however, allowed to leave.

On the night of April 25, a team of Dibrugarh police by additional SP Surjeet Singh Panesar who is investigating into the infamous APSC cash-for-jobs scam had raided the flat-5C owned by Bora in Ambika Shree Hari Apartment in Bhangagarh area of Guwahati and recovered 200 blank answer scripts and 300 additional sheets bearing the APSC logo.

The answer scripts were sent to the forensic laboratory for tests. ASP Panesar said they called Bora for questioning since there was a huge recovery of APSC materials from his Guwahati flat.

Paneswar said he Bora told the police that he had rented the flat to ex-APSC chairman Rakesh Paul. Fifteen days ago Paul’s wife had returned the key of the flat to Bora.

We have allowed him to leave now but he has been summoned again on May 4, he said.
