A motivational programme for the students of BOCW Skill development training was held at Gargo Institute of Technology in Dibrugarh on Wednesday.

The main objective of the programme was to encourage students who are pursuing courses on skills.

Speaking at the programme, Retired Air Marshal Anjan Gogoi said skill development training is most important in today’s world which can help the unemployed students to get a better job.

“First you have to identify the skills you have and work hard on them to develop. You should idolize Marry Kom and Hima Das who have brought laurels for Northeast and worked in your skills to develop yourself,” he said.

He said discipline, punctuality, and integrity are the key to success. Gogoi cited an example of Abraham Lincoln as to how after repeated failures he becomes the President of US.

Speaking on the occasion, 171 battalion CRPF 2nd in command Konwardip Singh, said that skilled labour in India can reduce the unemployment problem in India to some extent.

“Skill development courses are essential for the students because it will help one to job easily in a competitive world. But you have to enhance the skills in yourself by doing hard work,” Konwardip Singh added.

Ashim Dutta, senior advocate of Dibrugarh also spoke about the importance of skill development training in today’s world. “Everybody has potential but he or she has to find the potential in his or her self to become successful,” Dutta said.
