Dibrugarh police on Monday arrested one Ebad Ali alias Amin (20)- the prime accused in the sensational murder case of Om Prakash Agarwal.

He was arrested from the Paltan Bazar area of Dibrugarh.

“Ebad Ali was arrested from Paltan Bazar area of Dibrugarh. He was also involved in another murder case in December 2018,” Dibrugarh Additional SP (Headquarters) Padmanabh Baruah said.

“After coming out of jail he carried out the second murder. He is being presently interrogated and we are going to arrest a couple of his accomplices soon,” Baruah added.

53-year-old Om Prakash Agarwal, an employee of Shree Vinayak Flour Mills, was shot dead by miscreants in Graham Bazar area of Dibrugarh town on November 19, 2019, evening.

The incident took place at around 5.13 pm near the Eidgah Maidan when the victim was returning home after purchasing vegetables from the local market.

The incident took place barely 100 metres from his house located at Beria Building in Graham Bazar area.
