Dibrugarh DC aims to complete construction of dykes, drains before the rainy season

Dibrugarh Deputy Commissioner Pallav Gopal Jha has decided to complete the ongoing construction works of various roads, drains, bridges, dykes of the district as soon as possible.

The move comes keeping in view the greater interest of the people of the district and considering the problems to be faced in the upcoming rainy season.

The DC has accorded the permission for the execution of construction of various roads under PWD Roads Division.

It was clearly mentioned in the order that the materials and labourer shouldn’t be mobilized in any other purpose other than the works defined.

“No migration of labour, in or out of the district, will be allowed,” the order said.

The engineers and labourers working at the site have to wear protective gear hand like gloves, masks, helmets etc.

Proper sanitization, hand washing arrangement, clean drinking water should be available at the sites and social distancing should be maintained as per COVID-19 protocol, the DC said.

“Strict action will be taken against violation under section 188 of IPC,” the DC added.

The deputy commissioner also sought co-operation from the public in this regard.
