Ahead of the Lok Sabha elections, the Assam Government has effected reshuffle in the State bureaucracy on Thursday. With this reshuffle, IAS officer Debeswar Malakar, who is serving as the Director of Land Records Assam, has been transferred and posted as the new Commissioner of Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC).
Monalisa Goswami, who earlier held the post of Commissioner of Guwahati Municipal Corporation, has now been transferred and posted as the new Commissioner & Secretary to the Government of Assam, Health & Family Welfare Department.
Rupak Kumar Mazumdar, Commissioner and Secretary to the Government of Assam, Guwahati Development Corporation (GDD) and Chief Executive Officer of Guwahati Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) has been transferred and posted as Principal Secretary, North Cachar Hills Auonomous Council under the Hills Areas Department.
Moloy Bora, who was the Secretary to the Government of Assam, Act East Policy Affairs and Higher Education Departments and Mission Director, Rashtriya Uchchtar Siksha Abhiyan, has been transferred and posted as the Chief Executive Officer of Guwahati Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) with additional charge of MD, Guwahati Smart City Limited under the Guwahati Development Department.
Deepak Mazumdar, Secretary to the Government of Assam, Home, Political and Passport Departments, has been transferred and posted as Secretary to the Government of Assam, Higher Education Department and Mission Director, Rashtriya Uchchatar Siksha Abhiyan.
Madan Chandra Deka, who was the Secretary to the Government of Assam Cooperation and Health and Family Welfare Departments and MD, Housefed, Assam, has now been transferred to the post of the Director, Land Records, Assam.
Rajiv Kr. Bora, Additional Chief Secretary to the Government of Assam, Transportation and Development, Finance, Hill areas and Soil Conservation Departments and Chairman, SLNA (IWMP), Assam, has been transferred and posted as the Chairman, Assam Administrative Tribunal with additional charge of Chairman, Assam Board of Revenue.
He will also continue as Additional Chief Secretary to the Government of Assam, Finance and Soil Conservation Departments in addition to his substantive post.
