Now, civilians can also get Covid19 vaccines administered in 151 Base Hospital, Guwahati and Military Hospital, Shillong.
The news has been confirmed by the Guwahati-based defence public relations officer (PRO), Lt Col P Khongsai.

“151 Base Hospital, Guwahati and Military Hospital, Shillong have been at the frontline for management of COVID19 patients since the outbreak of the pandemic,” said a press statement issued by the defence PRO on Tuesday.
“Both the hospitals have commenced vaccination of civilians in addition to the service and ex-servicemen population,” he added.
The defence PRO further informed that vaccination sessions are being held between 9 AM to 1 PM for the eligible civilians, who have registered their names through the CoWIN portal.

With an average of 98-99% turnout, the sessions are being conducted following COVID-19 protocols, he added.
The hospitals prior to this have conducted vaccination sessions for approximately 23,500 serving personnel, the statement further said.
The cumulative number of COVID19 vaccine doses administered across the country reached close to 23.88 crore (23,88,40,635) as per the 7 pm provisional report of on Tuesday, the Union health ministry said.
A total of 13,32,471 beneficiaries of the age group 18-44 years have received their first dose and 76,723 beneficiaries of the same age group received their second dose of COVID vaccine on Tuesday, the ministry said.
Cumulatively, 3,17,37,869 people across 37 states/UTs have received their first dose and total 3,16,134 have received their second dose since the start of Phase-3 of the vaccination drive, it said.
