Assam on Thursday crossed the 6 lakh-mark of COVID19 tests.
While sharing the good news on his Twitter handle, Assam health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Thursday said this was remarkable job carried out by the health department teams in the state.

“What a remarkable job done by Health Dept teams – we crossed the 6 lakh (601,385) #COVID19 testing mark today,” health minister Sarma tweeted.
The health minister further said: “Testing, tracking and treating remain fundamental to our strategy of managing the pandemic. Your cooperation – coming forward to give your swabs – is vital.”
According to the data shared by the health minister, as on Thursday, Jorhat Medical College & Hospital (JMCH) has conducted 56,101 tests, Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH) has conducted 47,444 tests and Gauhati Medical College & Hospital Hilltop Lab (GMCH) has conducted 58,263 tests.

Assam Medical College & Hospital (AMCH) has conducted 34,096 tests, Tezpur Medical College & Hospital (TMCH) has conducted 47,404 tests, FAA Medical College & Hospital (FAAMCH) has conducted 61,757 tests and Regional Medical Research Centre (RMRC-ICMR) has conducted 54,357 tests.
The Institute of Advanced Studies in Science and Technology (IASST) has conducted 19,832 tests, Gauhati Medical College Hospital LAB has conducted 14,832 tests, Diphu Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) has conducted 14,758 tests and Defence Research & Development Organization (DRDO) has conducted 7,739 tests.
While North East Institute of Science & Technology (NEIST) has conducted 8,197 tests, MMCH Lab has conducted 1,990 tests, Ward Screening Centres have conducted 19,834 and 154,781 tests have been outsourced.
