The number of Assam Police personnel, who have tested positive for COVID19, increased to 1,208 on Monday.
Confirming the news, additional director general of police (law and order), Assam, GP Singh in a tweet on Monday said out of the total infected Assam Police personnel, 936 have recovered from the disease.
The top police officer also informed that a total of 187 other Assam Police personnel, who were earlier infected by COVID19, have rejoined their duties.
Singh also informed that four Assam Police personnel have lost their lives while fighting against COVID19.

On Monday, Assam registered 1,348 new COVID19 positive cases, taking the state’s overall tally to 33,576.
With the new positive cases, Assam currently has 9,447 active cases.
Earlier, a total of 24,040 patients were discharged from various hospitals across Assam after they tested negative.
With the demise of 7 more patients due to COVID19 infections on Monday, the death toll in Assam increased to 86.
The deceased have been identified as Tulsi Prasad Deuri, 59, from Jorhat; Joy Singh Bey, 59, from East K Anglong; Mevina Begum, 26, from Kamrup Metro; Dr GMS Chowdhury, 72, from Dibrugarh; Ajoy Mahato, 35, Puspa Roy, 75 and Dinesh Chandra Das, 50, from Tinsukia district.
