The total number of COVID19 positive cases among Assam Police personnel has reached 1,080 on Friday.
Confirming the news, GP Singh, the additional director general of police (law and order), Assam, in a tweet on the COVID19 status among Assam Police personnel said out of the total number cases, 805 personnel have recovered.

The top Assam Police officer informed that 110 Assam Police personnel have rejoined their duties.
Singh informed that three Assam Police personnel have lost their lives while fighting against COVID19 pandemic.
“July 24th 2020 – Assam Police’s 1080 personnel have tested positive till date out of whom 805 have recovered. 110 have rejoined duty. We’ve unfortunately lost three colleagues,” Singh added.

Meanwhile, Assam Police paid their last respects to the departed soul of woman police constable Puni Mech Paul who tested COVID19 positive and lost her battle of life while fighting against the pandemic.
“RIP WPC Puni Mech Paul. Your supreme sacrifice in the line of duty will always be remembered. Today, we paid our last respects to the departed soul through a ‘Shok Shastra’ performed by the all women Salaam,” Assam Police tweeted.
