Assam has registered 19 more new COVID19 positive cases on Tuesday evening taking the total to 616.
Confirming the news, Assam health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in a tweet at 8 pm said the infected patients are from Karimganj, Goalpara, Guwahati, Dhubri, Hailakandi, Udalguri and Lakhimpur districts.
Health minister Sarma said out of the infected patients, 7 are from Karimganj district, 5 are from Goalpara and 3 are from Guwahati.
The 4 other infected patients are from Lakhimpur, Udalguri, Dhubri, and Hailakandi district.
“Alert ~ 19 new cases of #COVID19+ reported. 7 Karimganj, 5 Goalpara, 3 Guwahati, 1 each from Dhubri, Hailakandi, Udalguri, Lakhimpur,” health minister Sarma tweeted.
With the new cases, the number of active COVID19 cases in Assam has increased to 547.
Earlier, a total of 62 COVID19 patients were discharged from various hospitals across the state after their complete recovery.
The deadly disease has so far claimed the lives of 4 persons in Assam while 3 cases migrated.
“Total cases 616. Recovered 62. Active cases 547. Deaths 04. Migrated 03,” Sarma added.
Within 20 hours on Tuesday, Assam has registered a total of 77 COVID19 positive cases.
