Assam has registered 2 more COVID19 positive cases on Tuesday taking the state’s total to 597.

Confirming the news, Assam health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in a tweet said both the infected patients are from Nagaon district of the state.

“Alert ~ Two new cases of #COVID19+ reported from Nagaon,” health minister Sarma tweeted.

With the new cases, the number of active COVID19 cases in Assam has increased to 528.

Earlier, a total of 62 COVID19 patients were discharged from various hospitals across the state after their complete recovery from the disease.

The deadly disease has so far claimed the lives of 4 persons in Assam while 3 cases migrated.

“Total cases 597. Recovered 62. Active cases 528. Deaths 04. Migrated 03,” Sarma added.

In the morning on Tuesday, Assam registered 47 new COVID19 positive cases.

Out of the 47 new cases, 21 are from Golaghat, four from Lakhimpur, eight from Morigaon, three from Goalpara 3, one each from Hojai and MMCH in Guwahati, two from Karbi Anglong and five from Nagaon district.

On Tuesday, India registered a rise of 6,535 COVID19 positive cases, taking the total number of infections to 1,45,380.

The number of active COVID19 cases in the country has climbed to 80,722, while 60,490 people have been discharged after their recovery.

The deadly disease has claimed the lives of 4,167 people across the country.

According to the Union Health Ministry, around 41.61 per cent of patients have recovered so far.
