Assam has registered 127 more COVID19 cases, taking the state’s overall tally to 2,115.

This has been confirmed by Assam health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Thursday night.

While 42 new COVID19 positive cases have been reported from Dhubri and Darrang, 85 positive cases have been reported from 9 other districts.

Sarma said Dhubri district has reported 38 new cases while Darrang district has reported 4 new positive cases.

In his tweet at 10.31 pm on Thursday, health minister Sarma said 21 persons have tested COVID19 positive in Barpeta while 21 others have tested positive in Tinsukia and 14 positive cases have been reported from Dima Hasao.

While 8 positive cases have been reported from Dhemaji, similar number of cases has been reported from Udalguri district.

Sarma also said 5 positive cases have been detected in Kamrup, 4 positive cases have been reported from Lakhimpur district.

A total of 3 positive cases have been detected in Kamrup Rural district and 1 positive case been reported from Baksa district, Sarma said.

With the new cases, Assam the number of active COVID19 cases in Assam stands at 1,649.

The deadly disease has claimed the lives of 4 persons while 3 cases have migrated from the state.

In another tweet at 11 pm on Thursday, health Sarma informed that 17 more COVID19 patients have been discharged from two hospitals in the state.

he said the patients were discharged after they tested negative for COVID19 twice.

While 2 patients were discharged from Dhemaji Civil Hospital, 15 other patients were discharged from the Sonapur District Hospital.

With the newly-discharged patients, the total discharged cases in Assam increased to 459 on Thursday night.
