Assam has registered 67 more COVID19 positive cases, taking the state’s overall tally to 1,339.
Confirming the news, Assam health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in a tweet at 10.47 on Sunday said the infected patients are from Tinsukia, Goalpara, Sivasagar, Nagaon, Sonitpur, Kamrup, Golaghat, Karimganj, Baksa, Kokrajhar and Dibrugarh districts.
Health minister Sarma informed that 16 persons have tested positive for COVID19 in Tinsukia district while 10 others have tested positive in Goalpara district.
In the Barak valley, 3 more persons have tested positive in Karimganj district.
While 7 persons have tested positive for the virus in Sivasagar district, same number of persons tested positive in Nagaon district while 5 positive cases have been detected in Sonitpur district.
In Kamrup district, 2 persons have tested positive and same number of persons tested positive in Golaghat district and 4 infected persons are from Dibrugarh
In BTAD region, 11 more COVID19 positive cases have been detected including 9 in Kokrajhar and 2 in Baksa district.
“Alert ~ 67 new cases of #COVID19+. 16 Tinsukia, 10 Goalpara, 9 Kokrajhar, 7 Sivasagar, 7 Nagaon, 5 Sonitpur, 3 Karimganj, 2 Kamrup, 2 Golaghat, 2 Baksa,” health minister Sarma tweeted.

With these new cases, the number of active COVID19 cases in Assam now stands at 1,147.
Earlier, a total of 185 COVID19 patients were discharged from various hospitals across Assam after their recovery.
On Sunday, a total of 22 COVID19 patients were discharged from the hospitals.
The deadly disease has claimed the lives of 4 persons in Assam so far while 3 cases migrated from the state.
“Total cases 1339. Recovered 185. Active cases 1147. Deaths 04,” he added.
On Sunday, Assam has registered a total of 123 positive cases.
