Assam health minister Keshab Mahanta on Monday started his Barak Valley visit to take stock of the Covid19 situation in the valley.

On the first day of his visit to Barak Valley, health minister Mahanta reached Karimganj.

After reaching Karimganj, the health minister inspected Karimganj Civil Hospital.

During the inspection, the health minister reviewed the treatment facilities at the hospital and took stock of the Covid19 status.

He asked the hospital authority to ensure strict implementation of protocol to contain Covid19 virus.

“Inspected the Karimganj Civil hospital, reviewed the treatment facilities and took stock of #Covid19 status. Asked to ensure strict implementation of protocol to contain the virus,” Mahanta wrote on his Twitter handle on Monday.

Health minister Mahanta also had a meeting in the conference hall of the Karimganj deputy commissioner.

The meeting was attended by the Karimganj deputy commissioner, officials of the health department and other dignitaries.

During the meeting, the health minister discussed the measures to be taken immediately to boost the health infrastructure in Karimganj district to reduce the rising Covid19 cases.

“In a meeting at the #Karimganj DC office with the DC, health officials and local dignitaries. Discussed the immediate measures to be taken to boost up the health infrastructure in the District to bring down the rising cases at the earliest,” Mahanta tweeted.

In another tweet, Mahanta said: “Let’s fight together against #Covid19. Shield yourself with the right mask, wearing the right way.”

On Sunday, Mahanta visited the Covid19 Care Centre at Tool Room Training Centre in Amingaon.

He also interacted with the patients in the Covid Care Centre.

“Inspected the #COVID19 care centre in @ghytrtcminmsme, interacted with the patients & wished them speedy recovery. The health workers are working in full swing to contain the virus. Thumbs up I extended my complete support to the front line warriors,” Mahanta tweeted on Sunday.

On Sunday, health minister Mahanta also attended a virtual meeting where Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma scrutinized the Covid19 situation in the state.

“Attended the meeting through VC, where Hon’ble CM @himantabiswa scrutinized the #Covid19 situation in #Assam and directed DCs to regularly visit District Hospitals and ensure efficient late night services for critical Covid patients,” Mahanta tweeted on Sunday.
