An employee of SBI Bazaar Branch in Dimapur, Nagaland, who was recently transferred to Guwahati, has tested positive for COVID-19.
The chief branch manager of Bazaar Branch, in a letter to Dimapur Deputy Commissioner on Friday, informed that the employee had travelled to Guwahati on July 12 in a hired taxi from the city.

The employee was quarantined and his swab samples were tested on July 14, the result of which returned negative.
However, his nasal swab was taken on the same day and the result declared on July 17 came positive, the letter added.
The branch manager, through the letter, asked the DC to initiate the necessary preventive action as per the COVID-19 protocol.

Sources informed that the employee who tested positive in Guwahati was a senior official of the Bazaar Branch.
“He was released from the branch on July 10. He moved from here on July 12 by hired public transport,” reported The Morung Express quoting a bank official.
