The Centre has removed the red zone tag from the five Assam districts – Golaghat, Dhubri, Goalpara, Morigaon and Nalbari.
Assam health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said the Union health ministry on Friday removed the red zone tag from the five Assam districts – Golaghat, Dhubri, Goalpara, Morigaon and Nalbari.
“However, Dhubri, Goalpara and Morigaon were put in the Orange Zone category. The Centre will shortly categorize Bongaigaon in one of the zones after five cases were detected in the district,” Sarma said.
He said the State government is making a strategy to bring back people stranded outside the State.
“The Chief Minister will chair a meeting to chalk out a strategy,” Sarma said.
He, however, indicated that the State would first try to bring back those stranded in other NE States.
Three more COVID-19 patients were discharged from hospitals on Friday, bringing down the number of active cases to 9.
Two patients from Morigaon were released from MMCH in Guwahati while one was discharged from the Golaghat Civil Hospital.
With this, the number of COVID-19 active cases in Morigaon and Golaghat districts currently is nil.
