Assam health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in a tweet on Tuesday morning informed that the number of COVID-19 positive cases rose to 27 in the state.
The person has been identified as a resident of Dhubri, the minister’s tweet further said.

He also informed that the man took part in a religious congregation in Nizamuddin in New Delhi.
Till date, a total 36,691 passengers have been screened at different airports across Assam.

While 28,860 passengers were screened at LGBI Airport in Guwahati, 3,497 passengers were screened at Mohanbari Airport, Dibrugarh; 2,877 in Roroiya Airport, Jorhat; 1,262 in Kumbhir gram Airport, Silchar; 764 in Lilabari Airport, Lakhimpur and 114 passengers at Salonibari Airport, Tezpur.
