The COVID-19 cases in Assam crossed 5,000 mark after 102 fresh positive cases in the state reported on Friday night.
Health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said that the state has reported 102 new COVID-19 cases, taking the total number of infections in Assam to 5,006.

Of the total 5,006 COVID-19 cases, 1,928 are active, nine patients have died and three others have migrated to other states, Sarma said.
The number of cases in the state has recorded a steep increase since the inter-state movement began on May 4.
A total of 3,066 Covid-19 patients of the state have been discharged from the hospitals.
