The total number of patients to have recovered from COVID-19 reached 498 after 39 people were discharged from various hospitals in Assam.
All the patients had tested negative for COVID-19 twice.

Among those released on Friday, 13 patients are from Mahendra Mohan Chowdhury Hospital, 11 are from Tezpur Medical College and Hospital, six are from Golaghat Civil Hospital, five are from Jorhat Medical College and Hospital, three are from Assam Medical College and Hospital and one from Silchar Medical College and Hospital.
In a tweet, Assam health minister Himanta Bisa Sarma said, “39 patients have been discharged today after they tested negative for #COVID19 twice. MMCH 13; TMCH 11; Golaghat CH 06; JMCH 05; AMCH 03; SMCH 01.”

Earlier on the day, 38 fresh COVID-19 cases were reported in the state, taking Assam’s overall tally to 2153 with 1687 active cases.
