A total of 105 COVID-19 patients were discharged from various hospitals in Assam on Friday afternoon, taking the overall discharge tally to 1537.
There are still 1883 active cases in the state and the overall tally in the state is 3430.

In a tweet, state health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said, “Delighted to share that 105 patients have been discharged today from various civil, dist & model hospitals, after being tested negative. Total Discharged Patients – 1537, Active Patients – 1883.”

Earlier on the day, the state recorded the fifth COVID-19 death when a 57-year-old cancer patient succumbed to the infection in Silchar Medical College and Hospital.
