Two more people in Assam tested positive for COVID-19 on Friday morning taking the state’s tally to 214, tweeted state health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.
“Two persons from Sivasagar in quarantine at our Jorhat centre are found #COVID19 +,” Sarma tweeted.

These two fresh cases were reported within hours after the minister tweeted about the day’s first two cases that were reported at Zonal Quarantine Centre at Tezpur University.
The state now has 153 active cases while 54 persons have been discharged from the hospital, three have migrated and 4 have died of it.
The number of positive cases in Assam is rising at an exponential rate.
