Kamrup (Metro) district once again topped the chart of fresh COVID-19 cases in Assam on Friday.
Out 39,347 tests done in the last 24 hours, Kamrup (Metro) recorded a total of 670 positive cases as the state went on to record 2891 new cases.
Kamrup (Metro) was followed next by Kamrup (Rural) with 232 cases, Karimganj with 175 cases and Dibrugarh with 151 cases.
With these, the positivity rate of Assam rose to 7.34 per cent.
Meanwhile, 2020 patients were discharged from various hospitals on Friday.
The overall COVID-19 tally of Assam reached to 1,21,224 on Friday, with 92, 717 recovered cases and 345 deaths.
The state has a total of 28, 159 active cases.
