Assam on Friday breached the 1 lakh COVID-19 cases with the detection of 2560 new cases.

Of these, 562 cases were detected in Kamrup (Metro), 167 in Jorhat, 165 in Cachar, 139 in Dibrugarh and 135 in Hailakandi.
The detection of the new cases took the overall tally to 101367.
A total of 40,102 tests were done in the last 24 hours.

So far 79,307 patients have recovered from the infection and the active cases in the state now stand at 21,771.
The positivity rate in Assam is 6.38 per cent.
In a tweet, Assam health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said, “Alert ~ 2560 #COVID cases detected today out of 40102 tests done in last 24 hours. Positivity Rate- 6.38%. Kamrup M- 562, Jorhat-167, Cachar- 165, Dibrugarh- 139, Hailakandi- 135.”
