GUWAHATI: Construction works across Assam have created job opportunities on a large scale.

This was claimed by Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in Dhemaji.

The Assam CM said that earlier youths of the state had to migrate to other place in search for jobs.

But, with large-scale construction works across Assam have created job opportunities in the state itself, the chief minister said.

He stressed on the need for the youths of Assam to get trained in new-age and modern technical work.

Technical training can equip the youths for remunerative job opportunities available across the country as well as abroad, Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma said.

It may be mentioned here that the Assam government has joined hands with Larsen and Toubro (L&T) to set up a centre with the objective of enhancing the skills of registered construction workers, aligning trained resources in the construction industry, and connecting trainees with future skills and modern technology.

The Assam chief minister also appealed to the youths of the state to get themselves trained in solar technology so that employment and earning opportunities in the sector do not slip out of their hands.

“Large scale construction activities in Assam has created new jobs. The new skilling centre, I inaugurated in Dhemaji, will allow the local communities to secure these jobs in their district,” CM Himanta Biswa Sarma said.
