Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma

GUWAHATI: Senior Congress leader Pawan Khera criticized Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, referring to him as a ‘Gaddar’ (traitor).

Briefing the media at Guwahati in Assam, Congress leader Pawan Khera slammed Himanta Biswa Sarma, stating, “We regard him as a Gaddar (traitor). A person who was not loyal to us, how can he be loyal to them? He calls himself the Mama (maternal uncle) of Assam, but there was another Mama from Madhya Pradesh, Shivraj Chauhan. What happened to him? The same fate awaits Himanta Biswa Sarma.”

“There isn’t much to say about such a traitor. But how can we expect someone who betrayed the Congress to remain faithful to Narendra Modi?” the Congress leader said.

Khera also claimed, “Himanta Biswa Sharma tries to maintain contact with the Congress because he fears where he will go if the BJP loses.”

“Rest assured, we won’t welcome him back. Many BJP leaders are in touch with the Congress. Himanta Biswa Sarma has developed a habit of lying after joining the BJP, trying to outdo even the Prime Minister in deceit. Since the BJP announced its list, many BJP leaders have reached out to us,” said Khera.
