Subsequently, a case was registered at Jagiroad Police Station, and an investigation was launched by the Morigaon district administration.

In response to the vandalism, Bordoloi’s team has filed a complaint with the election commission of India (ECI), urging an inquiry into the matter.

“Our Congress mandal offices within the Jagiroad constituency have suffered vandalism and destruction. This reprehensible act underscores the depths of desperation to which the BJP is willing to stoop, although sadly, it comes as no surprise,” he said.

Voting in Nagaon is scheduled for the second phase on April 26.
