The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday lashed out at the Congress for forging a poll alliance with the All India United Democratic Front (AUDF).
Taking part at the state executive meeting in Guwahati, several BJP leaders said that the alliance has brought to the fore the anti-Assam character of the Congress.
“To ensure the rights are protected, the indigenous people should take serious note of the alliance,” the BJP leaders added.
“The Congress indulged in misrule, corruption, anti-Assamese activities during its tenure,” the BJP further alleged.
“There was a massive change in the State’s demography during that period. So much was the change that the indigenous people were forced to flee from their lands,” the saffron party added.
“Infiltration of immigrants reached its peak during the Congress’ rule in the state,” the party said.
In the meeting the BJP also outlined the developmental activities carried out by the BJP-led government in the last four and half years.
Apart from blowing the poll bugle in the meeting, the BJP also announced an action plan for the next 100 days.
