Assam son of the soil Chief Justice of India (CJI) Ranjan Gogoi asked Prime Minister Narendra Modi to make a decision in the Parliament for removal of Allahabad High Court’s Justice S N Shukla as there have been huge allegations against him for serious judicial irregularities.

As per reports, Justice Shukla had cunningly allowed the Lucknow-based GCRG Institute of Medical Science to admit students even after the Supreme Court had ordered a ban on further admission of students in the medical college.

In a letter to the Prime Minister, Gogoi stated that Shukla had written to him on May 23 urging the CJI to allow him to continue his judicial work in the high court.

Gogoi also wrote that Shukla’s allegations for committing judicial irregularities were found to be so grave that he should be suspended immediately and should not be allowed to resume his judicial work in any of the high courts in the country.

The CJI had written the letter to the Prime Minister after he had rejected the written request of Shukla for reallocation of judicial work.

Former CJI Deepak Misra had formed an inquiry panel to find out about the seriousness of allegations slammed against Shukla by UP advocate general Raghvendra Singh.

The inquiry panel-comprising of former Chief Justice of Madras High Court Indira Banerjee , former Chief Justice of Sikkim High Court SK Agnihotri and Madhya Pradesh High Court Justice Justice PK Jaiswal- found that Shukla’s conduct had been very serious and breaching the judiciary.

After finding the graveness of allegations against Shukla, Misra asked him to either resign or take voluntary retirement.

However, on declination from Shukla to do neither, Mishra asked former Allahabad High Court Chief Justice DB Bhosale to immediately withdraw judicial work from him and also wrote to the Prime Minister seeking his removal.
