Citizenship Amendment Bill: IIT-Guwahati students join protest

Students’ of Indian Institute of Technology-Guwahati (IIT-G) too have joined the protest that is raging across the Northeast region against the Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAB).

The students of the premier institute of technology hailing from different parts of the region, through their protest have expressed solidarity with the protests of the people of the region.

The IIT-G students donned a black cloth on their mouth to register their protests in silence  against the contentious Citizenship (Amendment) Bills, 2016.

The students have, thus, demonstrated a silent protest against the Bill. The students demonstrated their protest at the main entrance to the Institution until late hours.

Expressing their stand before the media the protesting students of the IIT-G stated that the controversial Bill would never be acceptable to them  as it posed a huge threat to the identity of the indigenous people.

They vowed to intensify their protest if the Bill is not withdrawn.
