“The talks were positive and we will sit for another round of discussion tomorrow,” said an official on condition of anonymity.
Pro-talk ULFA leaders including chairman Arabinda Rajkhowa, general secretary Anup Chetia and foreign secretary Sasadhar Choudhary met Mathur, a former special secretary of the Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) to take ahead their ongoing peace talks.
Monday’s meeting assumes significance as New Delhi is all set to sign a peace accord with the NSCN (IM) in the coming days.

Ever since talks started between government and pro-talk faction of ULFA, the outcome was “almost positive,” except on the issue of granting constitutional safeguard to the indigenous people of the state, said an ULFA leader.
