Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) Executive Member (EM) Jagdish Sarkar has said that he is not involved in the formation of the new faction of All BTC Bengali Youth Students’ Federation (ABBYSF).
The new faction of ABBYSF was formed on Sunday with Pappa Dey and Manik Dey as president and general secretary respectively at Gourang Valley hostel in Kokrajhar.
Muntu Dey faction of the ABBYSF had alleged that BPF under the leadership of EM Jagdish Sarkar formed a new committee of the Federation with Pappa Dey and Manik Dey as president and the general secretary respectively.
“We are in no way involved in the formation of the new committee of ABBYSF. The allegations made by Mantu Dey faction are totally baseless,” EM Sarkar told reporters here.
“ABBYSF president Mantu Dey and his associates have alleged that I have not done anything for Bengali community, but it is an absolutely baseless allegation. Me as a BPF EM under the leadership of Hagrama Mohilary have been working relentlessly for welfare of all the community in the BTC region,” Sarkar said.
Sarkar further alleged that the Mantu Dey faction of ABBYSF has been collecting lakhs of money from common people in the name of offering legal help over NRC related matters but in reality they have done nothing for them.
