At least seven Assam Police constables were reportedly injured when unidentified miscreants from neighbouring Mizoram fired at a police post in Assam’s Cachar district on Monday.
The miscreants attacked a border outpost at Lailapur in Cachar district manned by personnel of APBN.

As per a report, one vehicle of the Cachar Deputy Commissioner’s convoy was also damaged in the miscreant’s attack.
The incident took place hours after Assam police destroyed eight farm huts built by the residents of Mizoram in the border area.
Earlier on Sunday, Union home minister Amit Shah in a meeting in Shillong discussed the issue of inter-state boundary disputes between northeastern states.

Mizoram chief minister Zoramthanga has sought Union home minister Amit Shah’s intervention into the border dispute.
Zoramthanga in his Twitter handle shared a video of a clash between the two sides and urged Home Minister Shah to intervene.
On the other hand, Assam Police said that a large number of miscreants from Mizoram were indulging in stone-pelting.
