‘Kothanodi’ director Bhaskar Hazarika whose latest Assamese film ‘Aamis’ is set to hit the silver screen in Assam, said, Bollywood has no respect for writers.
“My brief stint in Bollywood left me with the memorable lesson that there is no respect for writers in the country’s biggest film industry,” said the national awardee.
“I am not saying this out of anger. But this is a fact. Bollywood doesn’t value writing and there writing is treated as just a hobby,” said the Aamis director.
Hazarika was also the co-writer of Abbas-Mustan thriller ‘Players’.
His latest Assamese movie ‘Aamis’ was screened at the Jio MAMI 21st Mumbai Film Festival.
The movie is described as a dark love story. It features Lima Das and Arghadeep Barua in the leads, with a supporting cast of Neetali Das, Sagar Saurabh and Manash K Das.
Bollywood filmmaker Anurag Kashyap announced that he will present ‘Aamis’.
The movie will hit theatres on November 22.
