โ€˜Kothanodiโ€™ director Bhaskar Hazarika whose latest Assamese film โ€˜Aamisโ€™ is set to hit the silver screen in Assam, said, Bollywood has no respect for writers.

โ€œMy brief stint in Bollywood left me with the memorable lesson that there is no respect for writers in the countryโ€™s biggest film industry,โ€ said the national awardee.

โ€œI am not saying this out of anger. But this is a fact. Bollywood doesnโ€™t value writing and there writing is treated as just a hobby,โ€ said the Aamis director.

Hazarika was also the co-writer of Abbas-Mustan thriller โ€˜Playersโ€™.

His latest Assamese movie โ€˜Aamisโ€™ was screened at the Jio MAMI 21st Mumbai Film Festival.

The movie is described as a dark love story. It features Lima Das and Arghadeep Barua in the leads, with a supporting cast of Neetali Das, Sagar Saurabh and Manash K Das.

Bollywood filmmaker Anurag Kashyap announced that he will present โ€˜Aamisโ€™.

The movie will hit theatres on November 22.
