On the eve of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Dhemaji in Assam, Assam chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal inaugurated the lighting system in Bogibeel Bridge over the Brahmaputra at Dibrugarh.

The longest rail-cum-road bridge in India was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on December 25, 2018.
The bridge connects Dibrugarh direct with the Dhemaji district.
Prime Minister Modi will visit Dhemaji on Monday (February 22, 2021) where he will launch several projects including three major projects in the oil sector.

Sharing the news of the lighting system’s inauguration, the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) tweeted on Sunday evening: “CM Shri @sarbanandsonwal inaugurated lighting system installed at Bogibeel Bridge in Dibrugarh. Union MoS Shri @Rameswar_Teli and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.”

The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) on its Twitter handle said: “The longest rail cum road bridge in India was inaugurated by Hon’ble PM @NarendraModi ji on 25.12.18 which provided connectivity between North & South bank of mighty Brahmaputra. On the eve of his visit to Assam, the bridge is beautifully lit to welcome him with all its grandeur.”
Railway minister Piyush Goyal also tweeted: “Let There Be Light: The Bogibeel Bridge Bridge at night in Assam decked up with colourful lights to welcome PM@NarendraModi Ji.”
