In a bizarre incident, the body of a youth was found under mysterious condition on the banks of Nonai river near the construction site of a bridge in Gitibari area under Panery police station in Udalguri district of Assam on Tuesday morning.
The deceased has been identified as Sanu Das (35) who was missing since Saturday last.
The body was recovered from the site of a newly dug pillar.
The locals have suspected that the youth might have accidentally slipped into the site.
Meanwhile, the body has been sent for post mortem.
The police have also begun investigation into the matter to find out if there is any foul play in the death of the youth.
