BJP will soon launch a campaign across the state against the CAA-related misinformation, even as the party reiterated that not a single foreigner would be allowed to enter Assam till the BJP led government is in power.

Assam BJP president Ranjit Dass said this on Thursday while addressing the media in Guwahati.

“Our over 4.2 million ‘karyakartas’ (workers) will soon launch the campaign to educate the people of Assam on CAA and counter the misinformation,” Dass said.

“There were rumours being spread that that 1.30 crore illegal foreigners will enter Assam after the passage of CAA,” Dass said.

“There are also rumours doing the round that 54 lakh illegal foreigners were waiting at the Indo-Bangla border for entering Assam after the bill is passed,” Dass added.

“The misinformation campaigns have overshadowed the truth over CAA,” Dass reiterated.

He said that the party has convened a meeting of all its present and past workers on January 4 from where the campaign will begin.

“All our Karyakartas will arrive at the Veterinary College ground at Khanapara from where we are going to launch the campaign,” Dass said.

Dass added that the BJP leadership in Assam are indigenous Assamese people and only they can protect the Assamese people.

“Assam and the interests of Assamese people will be secured till the BJP government is in power in Assam and till the 4.2 million BJP karyakartas are alive,” he said.

“We are not going to compromise on the issue of Assamese people,” he reiterated.

“Will are going to make it clear to the people. What the BJP has done for the state, it has done without hiding and that it had not done anything that will harm the state,” Dass said.

Blaming the Congress and former Prime Minister late Rajiv Congress for the infiltration problem, Dass said that Congress created the entire mess.

He also asked the Congress to apologize to the family members of 855 martyrs of the Assam Movement.

“Will are going to make it clear to the people. What the BJP has done for the state, it has done without hiding and that it had not done anything that will harm the state,” Dass said.
