BJP MLA Shiladitya Dev has slammed Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti (KMSS) leader Akhil Gogoi and branded him as a maoist working for Bangladeshi muslims.
He has asked Akhil Gogoi to come to Dhubri, Goalpara, Barpeta areas where muslims are demanding miyaland.

Speaking to media at Dhubri, Dev said, “I came to Dhubri on Saturday and everywhere I saw posters demanding miyaland. They are demanding a miya autonomous council. This way the whole Assam will one day become a miyaland. Muslims constitute 80-90 percent population of Dhubri. So they are demanding miyaland now. When their population will increase in Dibrugarh, Jorhat and other parts of Assam, they will turn the whole Assam into a miyaland.”
The BJP legislator said Akhil Gogoi always tries to project him (Dev) as anti-Assamese, because it benefits him. Akhil’s so-called movement is meant for the benefit of Muslims only, and this will harm the Assamese community. He asked Akhil Gogoi to come to Dhubri to observe the ground reality.
Dev said that Akhil is an opportunist, who is pretending to be a nationalist without any specific ideology.
