BJP intensifies campaigning for Bodo Territorial Council elections

BJP has intensified campaigning for the upcoming Bodo Territorial Council elections.

Assam State BJP President Ranjit Dass along with actor-turned politician Jantin Bora participated in a series of election campaign rallies in the Bodo Territorial Region (BTR) on Wednesday.

BJP is leaving no stone unturned to woo the voters of the BTR.

Ranjit Dass campaigned for party candidates in Guma, Dotma, Fakiragram and Salakati in Kokrajhar on Wednesday.

While, expressing confidence of BJP’s good performance in the ensuing Council polls, the State BJP President said that only BJP can bring peace and overall development in the BTR.

Earlier in the day, Ranjit Dass visited the native place of Bodofa Upendra Nath Brahma at Boragari and paid tributes to Bodofa and met the family members.

Dass said it was his long desire to visit the birth place of Bodofa Upendra Nath Brahma.

“Bodofa is not only aspiration for the Bodo community but for entire Assam.” Dass said.

Meanwhile, BPF candidates for Salakati constituency Derhasat Basumatary also carried out a door-to-door campaigning promising all round development if voted to power.

On the other hand, UPP-L candidate from Baukhunguri constituency in Kokrajhar – Pratibha Brahma also intensified campaigning in her constituency. She participated in a series of pocket meetings to woo the voters.

Polls to the BTC are scheduled to be held on December 7 and 10.

Counting of votes will take place on December 12.
