At least two seats will be reserved for students from Bhutan in medical colleges in Assam.
Seats will be reserved for Bhutanese students in medical colleges in Assam from this academic year.
Indian Ambassador to Bhutan – Ruchira Kamboj, said, “The Assam government has allocated two MBBS seats for Bhutan from this academic year, to foster the vibrant people-to people ties between our two countries.”
Earlier, reportedly, the Bhutanese government had requested Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma to grant reservation of seats in medical colleges in the state for the students from the neighbouring Himalayan country.
Notably, the two seats which are to be reserved for students from Bhutan would be allotted from the central pool of MBBS seats in Assam medical colleges.
