NCHAC Executive Member in-charge of medical department Samuel Changsan on Friday distributed Atal Amrit Abhiyan demand drafts to nine beneficiaries at the office chamber of the Joint Director of Health Services in Haflong.
This is the third phase of distribution done in mode of reimbursement to those beneficiaries with an income of Rs 5 lakh or less.
The Government of Assam on December 25, 2016 had launched Atal Amrit Abhiyan a unique health assurance scheme for the benefit of economically poor people of the state. Under the scheme patients suffering from six critical diseases such as cancer, cardio vascular disease, kidney disorder, neurological conditions, burn injuries and neo-natal complications will get monetary assistance up to Rs 2 lakh. Under this scheme, a family of five would be eligible for a maximum sum of Rs 10 lakh with Rs 2 lakh to each member.
The ceremonial distribution was done in presence of Dr Dipali Barman, Jt Director of Health Services, Dr Lina Hakmaosa, Dr Silpi Saikia, Dr Marina Changsan and DPM of National Health Mission Rukmini Difoesa, staff nurse, office staff, Asha workers and media persons.
