The Bharat Bandh called by Congress party against the rising fuel prices and nose diving rupee against the US Dollar evoked total response in Lakhimpur district on Monday.
The bandh completely paralyzed normal life across the district affecting transport, trade and education services.

All the shops and commercial institutions remained closed during the bandh in the district while public transport was completely off the road.
The bandh also affected bank and other financial services in the district. Earlier Congress workers staged protests peacefully at various places of the district in support of the bandh.
The bandh also evoked total response in Dhubri, Dima Hasao, Dibrugarh , Sivasagar, Hojai and Nagaon.
