Several party leaders and party workers participated in the rally that was organized by Lakhimpur District Congress Committee in association with Dhemaji District Congress Committee.

“The only change that the BJP led government brought to the state was that their own people amassed huge assets like hotels, shopping malls in Guwahati,” said Gaurav Gogoi.

“The PM asked unemployed youths to sell pakodas to earn a livelihood, but is Union home minister Amit Shah’s son selling pakodas?” Gogoi said.

He further said that the Congress party would bounce back to form the government in the next state assembly polls.

Assam Pradesh Congress Committee president Ripun Bora said that the beginning of the end of BJP led government would start from Lakhimpur.

“The BJP led government has two chief ministers—one the elected Sarbananda Sonowal and the other self-styled chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma,” said Ripun Bora.

The meeting was also addressed by several Congress leaders like Bhupen Bora, Rockybul Hussain and Ranee Narah.
