Cadet Rajshree Roy from Assam’s Sribhumi district became the first from 4 Assam Battalion NCC to scale Mt Rhenock at 5,030 metres.

Guwahati: Rajshree Roy from Sribhumi district in Assam has created history by becoming the first cadet from 4 Assam Battalion NCC, Sribhumi, to successfully summit Mt Rhenock, located at a height of 5,030 metres (16,500 feet).

According to battalion officials, Cadet Roy reached the peak at around 10:30 am on May 18, 2026, completing the demanding expedition despite harsh weather and difficult mountainous terrain.

During the climb, she reportedly sustained cold-related injuries but continued the expedition with remarkable determination and eventually achieved the summit.

Officials of 4 Assam Battalion NCC said her accomplishment showcases outstanding courage, discipline, physical stamina and mental strength nurtured through NCC training.

The battalion termed the feat a landmark achievement and noted that the expedition highlighted qualities such as perseverance, leadership and resilience under extreme high-altitude conditions.

They further stated that Rajshree Roy’s success has brought honour to the battalion and is expected to motivate other cadets to take on challenging missions with dedication and confidence.

All officers, ranks and staff members of 4 Assam Battalion NCC extended their congratulations to the cadet and wished her continued success in her future pursuits.
