Assam’s Covid19 death toll reached 1,002 on Sunday after two more patients died of the infection in the last 24 hours.
On Sunday, Assam registered 73 new Covid19 positive cases, taking the tally to 2,14,657.

Confirming the news, Assam health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in his latest tweet on Sunday said the new cases were detected out of 11,528 tests.
The state’s positivity rate stands at 0.63%.
“73 Cases detected out of 11528 tests conducted with positivity rate of 0.63%,” health minister Sarma said.

Of the new cases, Kamrup Metro district has recorded 28 new cases.
Meanwhile, 117 more patients were discharged on Sunday after their recovery.
The percentage of the recovered cases stands at 97.91%.
Assam currently has 3,481 active Covid19 cases, which is 1.62% of the total cases registered in the state.
With the death of two more positive patients, Assam’s death rate stands at 0.46%.
In an earlier tweet, health minister Sarma said: “Very sad to share the demise of two #COVID patients today in #Assam~ Late Deboran Das (82) of Golaghat and Late Dhaniram Das (56) of Kamrup Rural.”
