Guwahati: Assam’s Aishi Prisha Borah, hailing from Jorhat, received the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar 2025 in the Science and Technology category on Friday.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma congratulated her for the prestigious achievement.

In a post on social media platform X, the Chief Minister praised Aishi’s work in natural farming and her initiatives that convert waste into wealth. He noted that her efforts to promote sustainable practices at such a young age are commendable and could inspire other children to adopt environmentally responsible habits.

President Droupadi Murmu presented the awards to 20 children during a ceremony at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi on Friday.

The recipients were recognised for exceptional accomplishments across six categories: Bravery, Social Service, Environment, Sports, Art and Culture, and Science and Technology.

During the ceremony, the President acknowledged the remarkable talents of the awardees, stating that such recognition would motivate young minds to work for the betterment of society.

She added that the award-winning children have brought pride to their families, communities, and the nation.

The Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar is India’s highest civilian honour for children, awarded annually to individuals aged 5 to 18 for outstanding contributions in various fields.
