Since the announcement on Saturday evening that Dhubri Superintendent of Police, Anand Mishra has been transferred to Nagoan, scores of youths hit the streets of Dhubri Town to express their disappointment over his transfer.
The youth from all the community gathered in front of the official residence of the Superintendent of Police, Dhubri and also in front of his office with placards in their hands demanding stay of the transfer order.
“Mishra sir is an inspirational person for all of us. He always encouraged the youth and guided the new generation in a positive manner,” said a youth in Dhubri town.
They claimed that since the first day of his posting (Anand Mishra) as the superintendent of police of Dhubri district on July 17, 2020, the crime graph of the district has drastically changed.
The youths of the district also stated that Mishra was successful in eradicating illegal trade of addictive drugs, curbed cattle smuggling, and checked corruption even in the police department.
Standing outside the office of Dhubri SP official residence and his office on Sunday and Monday morning, the youths by maintaining social distance demanded the stay of the Superintendent of Police, with a placard reading #WeWantAnandMishra.
“Mishra always inspired us in hundreds of ways; he encouraged us to do positive things for the society. He always stood for the youths and participated and cheered each and every activity that is for the betterment of the society”, said a young boy, who also added that he was encouraged by Mishra to work for the marginalized people of the Society.
Many of the youth also claimed that Mishra’s words and activities gave them a new direction in their careers.
Meanwhile, Anand Mishra thanked the people for their love and cooperation and said that all the love and appreciation shown to him was for the service that every police officer delivers.
Mishra said, “Relations that have been built at Dhubri will never be forgotten. I am overwhelmed by the response of the people of Dhubri”.

The soft-spoken and people-friendly officer gave the entire credit of his work during his short 10 months tenure in district to the entire Dhubri Police team and the cooperation of the public as well.
Mishra left Dhubri for his new assignment as Superintendent of Police of Nagaon on Monday morning.
Mishra wrote on his social media before starting his journey to Nagoan,”Thank You Dhubri-Thank You Everyone. I have not enough words left to express my gratitude towards your love and # inspiration.”
Meanwhile, the Deputy Commissioner of Dhubri – Deba Kumar Kalita has also been transferred and in his place IAS Anbamuthan MP and has been posted as the new DC of Dhubri District.
