The case was registered under sections 294 (use obscene language) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the IPC based on the complaint filed by Lohiya.

He alleged he was treated badly when he went to work in Das’s residence.

Lohiya further alleged that he was threatened with “dire consequences” when he had refused to go to her place to work.

This case comes in the wake of a complaint lodged earlier by Das at Jorhat police station on August 19.

Jorhat police had registered a case (No: 2188/19) against the Safai Karmachari Lohiya under section 509 (insulting the modesty of a person by any act, speech or word) of the IPC on August 20.

Police said that they were investigating the allegations in the cross FIRs and that all the sections were bailable.

The case against Lohiya had been transferred to the Garmur police station as Lohiya was a resident of Garmur area.

Papori Das, when contacted, denied that she had ever abused or threatened Lohiya.

Das said she often called him to work in her house and paid him.

“Lohiya is not a permanent or contractual employee of the district administration. He used to work for me and since he said something to me the other day which insulted my modesty. So I filed an FIR against him,” she said.

Das further said that Lohiya had been instigated to file the FIR after she had lodged the complaint against him.

The FIR lodged by Lohiya, states that Das regularly harassed him mentally.

The copies of the FIRs have been sent to the Prime Minister, chief minister, DGP, State chief secretary and assistant secretary, home and political department.

The FIR further said he had refused to work as he was working in the bungalow of the DC.

On his refusal, he stated that Das had threatened him with dire consequences.

He said that police from Garmur police station had visited his house three times on August 20 and also summoned him to the police station.

He further stated that earlier he had worked in the house of ADC Samiran Borah and his family and that no complaint was there against him.

Lohiya alleged that Das was misusing her official position by lodging a complaint against him.
