A wild elephant trampled a woman to death at Borlengri under Khatkhati Police Station in Karbi Anglong district.
The victim has been identified as 45-year-old Meena Munda.

The incident took place in the morning at 5:30 am on Thursday.
According to reports, the incident took place when Munda was escorting some guests from her home in the morning.
As there was a lot of fog, she could not see the wild elephant on the road.

The forest department officials and police reached the spot and took the body for conducting post-mortem to Diphu Medical College Hospital.
The victim is survived by her husband and five children.
