Incidents of man-elephant conflict are reported in Golaghat district from time to time.

In June 2020, a herd of wild elephants entered Aitopnia Miri gaon in Golaghat district and destroyed the house of a person, identified as Mridujyoti Bora.

Betel nut trees, banana trees and agricultural crops in the village were also reportedly destroyed by a herd of 45-50 wild elephants.

Most of the villagers of the man-elephant conflict-affected areas in Golaghat keep on complaining that they hardly see any forest team visiting their areas to decrease the man-elephant conflict.
