Even as flood continues to wreak havoc in several parts of Assam including Nagaon, a wedding was solemnised in the Samuguri area of the district.

Rising water could not dampen the spirits of the bride and the groom’s family as the wedding rituals went ahead without any hindrance.

The wedding went ahead much fanfare and only a select number of people were present in the function.

As the bride’s house has been completely surrounded by floodwater, the family had to shift to a nearby highland and carry out the wedding rituals.

Interestingly, the groom went to the bride’s house from his Ambagan residence on a country boat with a selective number of relatives.

After the wedding, both the groom’s and the bride’s family expressed happiness and thanked each and everyone who made the wedding possible.
